    The value of the optical power will have the most intuitive and obvious influence on the signal during the transmission process, and this optical power is also the easiest to test. This value can be tested through the optical power.

    Optical power – use an optical power meter to test whether the power emitted by the port is within the normal range and stable. (Note: The transmitted optical power from a short range test is equivalent to the received optical power at the opposite end. Test values at the R&D stage are generally based on the short end of the test. The minimum sensitivity is obtained from the actual kilometre of fibre plus optical decay testing.)

    When the optical power of the optical module has bad phenomena, such as large light, small light, no light, unstable optical power, small side mode rejection ratio, etc., the performance of the optical module will decline, which will affect the performance and distance of signal transmission.

    If the emission optical power of the tested short end is less than -35dbm (including -35dbm), this value will be defaulted to the matte state. Generally, the sensitivity of received optical power on the market is higher than -35dbm, and the lowest of 100m module is -34dbm.

    The optical power test value is usually affected by some kind of fault in the cable equipment, such as bad connectors, contamination of connections, and the use of fiber jumpers, resulting in excessive signal loss.
