CM: full name Cable Modem, cable modem, commonly known as coaxial onu, through the cable TV coaxial cable for data access equipment, radio and television access mode, the front-end using CMTS management system. Cable Modem converts uplink digital signal (IP) to analog radio frequency signal (R F) for transmission, and downlink converts analog radio frequency signal (RF) into digital signal (IP) for reception. Cable Modem is mainly used by radio and television operators (the highest bandwidth of Shenzhen Topway CM access is 100M). Due to the constraints of bandwidth and cost factors, this access mode is also being phased out.
ADSL: full name Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, asymmetric digital user line, commonly known as electric onu, the early operators used the access mode, using frequency division technology, transmission media for the telephone line, the low frequency signal transmission and high frequency signals separation, is a high-speed data transmission technology on the ordinary telephone line. Unable to meet the needs of high-speed network access and high cost, it is gradually replaced by PON technology.
